But, I love granola, especially mixed with fruit and yogurt, as a parfait. One of my new favorite granolas is called Bear Naked Fit Granola. This wholesome granola is available in two decadent and yummy flavors, including vanilla almond crunch (with delicious whole almonds, whole grain oats and ground flax seed) and triple berry crunch (with whole grain oats, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and more). You may recall that I have posted on the health benefits of flax seed before, and the vanilla almond variety is a great way to get flax into your diet.
As far as calories go, this is a lower calorie version of Bear Naked’s other granolas and contains just 4 grams of sugar per serving and 120 calories (and 3 weight watchers points plus points) for a quarter cup. There are not trans-fats or saturated fats in this delicious mix, and it provides two grams of dietary fiber (three grams in the berry variety) and four grams of protein per serving. These are delicious when you toss a half serving of them into your favorite yogurt or when eaten on their own for a delicious and satisfying snack. You might also think about adding this granola to your favorite trail mix recipe.
