Attune Probiotic Chocolate Bars

attune chocolate barI love eating Attune chocolate bars! Not only are they yummy and low calorie, but they also contain added health benefits (more about that below).

Attune chocolate bars taste a lot like regular candy bars, in fact they are a close substitute to a Nestle's crunch bar. Unfortunately for us, each bar is more petite than a Nestle's crunch, but the Attune bars are still an impressive, filling size, especially considering how yummy they are.

The Attune chocolate bars come in 4 delicious all-natural, gluten-free flavors: Chocolate Crisp, Dark Chocolate (my personal favorite, which is also vegan by the way), Mint Chocolate (I haven't found this one at the supermarket yet), and Blueberry Vanilla (made with delicious White Chocolate). The Dark Chocolate flavor has the added benefit of containing a high level of antioxidants, since it's 68% cocoa.

Each bar is only 100 calories (except the Dark Chocolate which is only 80 calories), and a very yummy, very healthy, 2 weight watchers points.

Now, for the promised health benefits! Each bar contains 5 times the amounts of healthy bacteria (the live active cultures) that you find in most yogurts. This healthy bacteria helps regulate digestion (like you've seen in the yogurt commercials) and fight off bacterial infections. Also, each bar contains 25-30% of the US recommended daily allowance of Calcium which you need to maintain strong bones (and is believed to help regulate blood pressure, amongst other health benefits).

I buy Attune bars in the refrigerated section of my Whole Foods, by the dairy ingredients (sometimes they are difficult to spot so be sure to ask someone for help if you can't find them). You can also buy them at some Safeways. There is also a product locator page on the Attune website that you can use to find a store that carries these bars near you.

I want to point out that Attune also makes a "granola" version of their bars which are not as low calorie (they have around 170 calories) as the chocolate bars. But, each bar contains similar health benefits, so if you are okay with the calories, you should definitely check them out!

Enjoy!
Juliet

I love these Attune Bars! I have just started getting into probiotics and I tried the Activia yogurt and found that it was a little harsh on my system. I tasted alot of different probiotic yogurts and pills but just recently I came across these probiotic Attune bars. They have active cultures in them and taste like a chocolate bar! I encourage everyone to try them. They were very tasty and they fit my digestive problems without the harsh side effects I experienced with Activia. Go out and try it!
