Glutino Gluten Free Chocolate and Banana Bars

glutino gluten free chocolate and banana bars
Hello and Happy Friday!! Today I thought I'd blog about another one of my favorite low calorie bars.

I love the flavor combination of chocolate combined with banana, although I'm not usually able to find it in snack bars. So, when I found these gluten free chocolate and banana bars made by a company called Glutino at Whole Foods I was really excited. On top of being a delicious flavor, these bars have a lot of other things going for them, namely being totally organic, low calorie, and full of healthy (and desirable) ingredients like dark chocolate chips, quinoa, buckwheat, flaxseeds, and honey.

Another thing I like about these bars is that they remind me of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Why you might ask? Well, the bars have a crunchy outside and chewy inside. And, the balance of chocolate with the other non-chocolate ingredients reminds me a lot of the taste of an oatmeal cookie.

Each one of these bars is only 100 calories (kind of hard to believe considering how delicious they are), 1.5 grams of fat, 1 gram of fiber, and 1 gram of protein (and only 9 grams of sugar). That means they are only 2 weight watchers points. While I only eat the chocolate and banana flavor (since I love it so much!), the box also boasts of a wildberry flavor as well as a chocolate and peanut flavor. If you've tried them, please let me know how they are!

Enjoy!
Juliet

PS. In case you haven't seen it, here is my low calorie bar list.

How big are the bars? I'm always sad when I see the little 100-calories bars and think, "That's...one bite." *cry*

NuGo makes this one Chocolate Banana nutrition bar that's just...to die for. It's so good! :)

They are decent size. Definitely bigger than a normal 100 calorie bar. They are more standard bar size. Where can I also get the NuGo?? :)

Mmm... that is a great combo! The only downside is that many of the Glutino and other gluten free products are EXTREMELY expensive:(

This is a great find. I always up for trying new things. =)

I'm sold on the "oatmeal chocolate chip cookie" part;) 100 calories is very low for a bar!

Hey! I've seen lots of Glutino products, but never organic. Great find!

The NuGo's are at Andronico's (they have the Sugar Free versions there, too, which are insanely high in protein, like 16-20 grams....it's amazing). There are just so many delicious varieties. I love NuGo. Haha.

I'm going to have to try these, if they're normal size-ish. I'm afraid to try Larabars because they're so ittybitty. I mean...my stomach is like 100x the size of a Larabar. I can't imagine having any success. :-P

And, yes, of COURSE I'll post pictures of my new "bling"! I'm not a jewelry girl, so this is huge for me. ;)
