So, my plan is to use this blog to talk about some of my favorite healthy, low calorie foods. When I say healthy, I mean foods that are smart, aka foods that don't have artificial sweeteners (like Splenda, for instance), high fructose corn syrup, or hydrogenated ingredients -- all of which I strive to avoid.
The food I'd like to showcase in this post is Unsweetened Almond Breeze (it comes in plain, vanilla, and chocolate -- all delicious!!!). You can find it at Safeway (usually), Trader Joes, or Whole Foods.
This stuff is amazing!! It is only 40 calories a cup (1 point for WW diet). Sometimes I put it in cereal, or smoothies, and sometimes I just drink it plain with some nutmeg, like eggnog. I highly, highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a low calorie milk substitute. Almond Breeze also makes a sweeter version, which is around 60 calories. I like to stick with this one, though, since it is so low calorie.
