110 Calorie Pria Bars

I love snack bars, don’t you? I’ve posted before about some of my favorites, including Gnu Flavor and Fiber Bars (just 2 weight watchers points).  I did a posting just dedicated to low calorie bars that I love, from the Kind Bar – oh so yummy – to the GoRaw Banana Bread Flax Bar that honestly is so delicious that I would eat it every day if I could.  Now I have a new bar to add to my list – a 110 calorie option that is lower in calories than most of the bars that I have recommended before, with the exception of the Fiberful Bars that I found at Trader Joe’s for sixty calorie, and the 40 calorie Fruitabu Smooshed Low Calorie Fruit Bar

So, back to the Pria 110 calorie bar – these are actually called the Pria 110 Plus Bar.  Since it is from Pria, you can be fairly confident that it is going to be tasty.  I think of these bars as being somewhat of a cross between a chocolate bar and a power bar.  Each of these bars has as much calcium as a serving of milk and has more folic acid than a serving of orange juice.  You can get these delicious and yummy bars with either a white, yogurt coating or a chocolate coating, and there are several flavors to choose from that make you hungry just hearing them, including French Vanilla Crisp, Double Chocolate Cookie, Crème Caramel Crisp, Chocolate Honey Graham, Mint Chocolate Cookie (my favorite), Chocolate Peanut Crunch or Strawberry Shortcake.  Yum!

Each Pria 110 calorie bar has 3 weight watchers points plus points (and 2 weight watchers points using the old system), four grams of soy protein and 23 essential minerals and vitamins while packing a protein punch with 5 grams.  These bars are also low in sodium for those who are watching their salt intake – just 80 mg.  You can pack this in your purse for a quick pick-me-up snack in the middle of the afternoon, or do like I do – take it along shopping so that you’re not hungry and tempted by all the unhealthy stuff you’ll find at the mall’s food court this winter.

You can buy Pria bars almost anywhere (Safeway, Whole Foods, Target, Trader Joes, etc.), including online at Amazon

Enjoy!

These were actually the first "healthy" snack bars I started eating a few years ago. They always reminded me of a chocolate covered rice krispie! :-)

I agree about snack bars, they are so handy and good to eat, But I think you have to beware not to get carried away :) most of these bars are not good for you when eaten in large quantities though.

But good to have on you, easy to grab, just to yummy to not have them.

Regards
Olafur
